Acorn Events offers families the chance to meet new friends whilst learning about the environment and the wildlife that lives there.

Everyone is welcome at Acorn Events, all children have to be accompanied by an adult. There is no membership required.

Events for 2010

Prior booking at guest services in reception is required for all events unless stated.
Adults must accompany children under 16 for all events.
There is a charge for some events.
Some events are run by outside contractors who may charge.
For all activities meet at The Folly in the Village Square unless otherwise stated.
Any charges and changes of detail will be displayed on the Village Square Notice Board.

The following describes some of the many events that are taking place at Kelling Heath during 2010, new exciting events are added to our programme throughout the year, check the notice board in the village square for additions and changes

Acorn Events - Get Messy
Make a willow dragonfly,  junk modelling, flower pot painting, make bird cakes, a Green Man Mask, lots to do and make. Free

Acorn Events Pond Dipping
Discover the life that lives in and around our conservation pond. Equipment is supplied. Free

Acorn Events Creative Crafts
Jwellery making £3, Bag Painting £2  

Archery
Full instruction for adults and children over 7 years of age - please book in the Orchard Field from 9.15 a.m. A charge applies

Art Workshops with artist Angela Bellamy
Watercolour workshops for adults and children.  Other workshops with Angela include Corn Dolly's, Dry Point Print and Felt making. £3 per person

Bee Walk
Put on a bee keepers hat and join us for a walk to the bee hives.

Doodle Pots
A drop-in session ‘Painting on Pottery' and Decopatch. A charge applies

Evening Story Walk in the Woods
With professional story teller Dave Tonge. £3

Star Walks
Norfolk and Norwich Astronomical Society will be here late into the night to explain the clear North Norfolk skies through their telescopes. Details of dates and times will be advertised in the Village Square as this event is dependent upon weather and cloud cover.

Tennis Coaching
Improve your skills with a local tennis coach. Ages 5 - 16. A charge applies.

‘Xtreme' Cycle Trail
Join ‘Dangerous Dave' from the Countryside Team on a bike trail for the adventurous! Suitable for experienced accompanied riders over the age of 12 years. Don't forget your cycle helmet!

Wildlife at Kelling Heath
Join the wildlife team of Peter Walton, Nick Acheson and Jerry Kinsley for Spring bluebell and dawn chorus walks, summer bird and butterfly walks, bat detecting and moth trapping and a walk at dusk to seek out the rare, elusive bird the Nightjar. No charge.
