Pond dipping

Acorn Events offers families the chance to meet new friends whilst learning about the environment and the wildlife that lives there.

Whatever the weather, everyone is welcome at Acorn Events for family focussed seasonal activities

  • All children have to be accompanied by an adult
  • There is no membership required Prior booking at guest services in reception is required unless stated. Events and activities can be booked a week in advance and are subject to availability
  • Some events are run by outside contractors who may charge
  • For all activities meet at The Folly in the Village Square unless otherwise stated
  • Any charges and changes of detail will be displayed on the Village Square notice board
  • The right is reserved to alter the schedule without prior notice

Pond dipping and bat walks
With warmer weather, the ponds are teeming with wildlife for our popular pond dipping sessions, at dusk see bats swooping over the pond with bat detecting events

Archery
Sporting activities include Archery sessions with full instruction for adults and children over 7 years of age – please book in the Orchard field from 9.15 am

Learn to fish

Fishing tuition at our pond stocked with Roach, Rudd, Bream, Tench and Carp for adults and children over the age of 12 years A charge applies Please remember to bring your National Rod License with you

A drop in session pottery painting and deco patch

Full day photography workshop available with wildlife photographer Mike Powles for adults and children over 12 years of age

Story Walks
Walk into the woods at dusk listening to the tales and fables told by professional story teller Dave Tonge

Wildlife at Kelling Heath
Join the wildlife team of Peter Walton, Nick Acheson and Jerry Kinsley for spring flower walks, dawn chorus walks, summer bird and butterfly walks, bat detecting and mammal trapping
