FUN @ KELLING HEATH!
Monday 06th of December 2004
This half term was the first time I had ever been to Kelling Heath and it was certainly a good one.
Me and my family got up early in the morning and my cousins Beth and Max and aunty and uncle (who were also going on holiday with us) drove to my house to drive in convoy with us.
When we arrived there I knew it was going to be fab just by the look of the place. Lots of fields, and mainly the square with table tennis courts and the leisure centre. There was also a collection of squirrels living in a big shelter.
My family and my cousins family had pitches next to each other so we put our tents up straight away. Then we had a nice sort of buffet lunch and had loads of space to play as the site was nice and spacious.
After lunch we drove down to a beach and played in the sea. We came back, soaking wet, and enjoyed a nice meal of sausage casserole in between our 2 tents. Then when we'd finished, we all settled in to our tents and slept an enjoyable night's sleep.
The next day was the best day ever. In the morning, we had our breakfast and then me, Joe and Finn my brothers, Beth, Max, my dad and my uncle all went down to the cool adventure playground Kelling Heath had got. It was massive, with a sort of assault course with monkey bars, slides, ladders, firemen poles, a wobbly line you had to walk along and big trees to climb. We all loved it.
After loads and loads of playing, we went back to the site and drove to Wells where we went crab fishing (gillying.) Then we drove back to our tents and went to Kelling Heath's outdoor swimming pool, it was fun, but a bit on the cold side!!!
We came back and had some soup, but instead of going to bed, we all went down to The Forge Bar in the square. It was a nice building, we all had drinks, and best of all, a kids disco was on. So me, Beth, Max, Joe and Finn all went to dance.
The DJ was doing an air guitar competition, and asked me and Beth to come on to the stage and represent the girls! It was so much fun. Then, as if nothing could make it any better, me, Beth and 3 other girls were called up (yet again) to go on stage, but this time, do the Macerena!
Went back to the tents later and had a good rest.
Sadly, in the morning we had to pack up as the brilliant holiday was almost over. My family drove off to Sheringham's pool, to have a splash, and my cousin's family to the Norfolk steam train. Then we both drove home.
All in all, I had an AWESOME holiday, I can't wait untill we go again!
