Catch the Poppy Line from Kelling Heath

Sit back and relax with a trip on the historic North Norfolk Railway and enjoy a journey of discovery with stunning countryside and coastal views.

Starting in Sheringham and heading to Holt, the Poppy Line is more than a train ride. Steeped in history, heritage and beautiful views, it’s a wonderful experience for the whole family.

Passing through our own halt on the boundary of Kelling Heath, the smallest station along the line, passengers can hop aboard and spend the day exploring the surrounding this area of outstanding natural beauty. You should be aware that because of the gradient steam trains can only stop at Kelling on the return journey from Holt to Sheringham but if you make the short walk to Weybourne station you can board steam trains to Holt from there. Diesel trains can stop in both directions. You can even buy tickets from the Reception at Kelling Heath!

Rest awhile at Weybourne station, perfect to sit and watch the steam trains go by. If you don’t wish to ride the train back and would prefer to embrace the great outdoors there are several walks available through Weybourne Woods and Sheringham Park, with direct access to the Kelling Heath Nature Trail, or walk down to the sea and take the coastal footpath to Sheringham for plenty of seaside fun.

To the west, the magnificent Georgian Town of Holt is ready to explore with a wide variety of unusual shops and cafes.

All aboard the North Norfolk Railway!
