Walk on the wild side
Woodland walks
There are footpaths throughout our 250 acres. Enjoy the beauty of the Norfolk countryside and panoramic views of the Weybourne coastline. Self guided leaflets are available to guide you through the glorious range of habitats, wildlife and history of Kelling Heath. If you want to use the Park as a base and explore other long distance footpaths there is a number of routes that take in more of the beautiful surrounding countryside and coast depending on how far your legs will carry you! Board the North Norfolk Steam Railway at Kelling’s own halt travelling to Sheringham or Holt and back.
Guided walks & events
Join members of our experienced countryside team in exploring the Park and finding out more about its wealth of wildlife. A mix of guided bat, bird and general nature walks means learning about the Kelling estate couldn’t be easier. Add in our programme of special events and you have a huge variety of organised events that the whole family can enjoy.
Trail activities
There is a fitness trail through the woodland if you want to keep in shape as you enjoy your surroundings, or you can try your hand at orienteering, a recreational activity which is great fun for all the family. If you enjoy cycling, you can follow Kelling’s own signed cycle route around the perimeter of the park or venture into the quiet country lanes which surround us.
Acorn Events offers children and families the opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities linked to the natural environment, learning more about the wildlife and work of the Norfolk countryside in a relaxed and fun way.
Cycle Hire and Repairs
We have bikes of all sizes with fixtures and fittings for children and toddlers. We are also happy to help you with any problems that need fixing with your own bike.
The Red Squirrel Breeding Programme
At Kelling Heath we are pleased to have captive red squirrels, which are part of a national scheme for captive breeding. The aim of this scheme is to set up a reserve of animals for release in controlled and closely monitored projects.
Please note: Activities & events are seasonal, frequency and times may
vary. See enclosed facilities guide or go online. Small charges apply for
some activities and leaflets, numbers for some events are limited.
