KELLING HEATH
Located amongst 300 acres of woodland and heathland in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty close to the North Norfolk coastline at Weybourne.
The majority of Kelling Heath lies on a feature known as the Cromer Ridge, formed during the last ice age. The Park falls within the North Norfolk Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and borders Kelling Heath – an extensive tract of lowland heathland designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Arable fields and two Forestry Commission woodlands complete the surrounding area. In developing a commercially viable destination, our aim was to do so in sympathy with the environment whilst educating our guests’ and visiting organisations. In developing the infrastructure and facilities, consideration has been given to those with disabilities despite the environmental constraints of the location. Sound environmental management of the woodland and heathland habitat is of primary importance, and the Park has been developed in a way that is sensitive to and in keeping with the environment. For example, away from the Village Square and its facilities, roads and paths are typical of a natural woodland and heathland location and may not be suitable for those with disabilities.
WEBSITE
The Kelling Heath website is designed to expand and fit browsers.
TOURING PITCHES
Pitches are located in three areas on flat-level grassland. They can be available close to amenity buildings, which all have inclusive facilities with access controlled via a radar key. Parking is available for one car beside each pitch.
HOLIDAY HOMES AND LODGES
The Woodland Lodges have more spacious accommodations and baths allocated in them. Parking is available beside all types of accommodation.
The majority of Woodland Lodges and Nightjar Holiday Homes have ramp access, though are not equipped internally for accessible accommodation. We recommend contacting Reservations to confirm your accommodation has this facility.
Unfortunately, temporary ramps cannot be fitted to the other Lodges.
ARRIVAL
A drop-off layby is close to the main reception, whilst parking bays are available in the main car park. The reception area is level with no ramps, and we also have an accessible lowered desk.
TRANSPORT
We can provide details of local taxi firms who may be able to assist with transport. Kelling Heath has its own halt on the North Norfolk Railway, and you can travel to Holt and Sheringham. From Sheringham, you have access to the national rail network.

Assisted shopping is available in-store with a member of staff upon request.

The Health & Fitness Club has a disabled changing room and a chair lift providing access to and from the main pool. There is a raised area within the Fitness Studio accessible via a ramp. The fitness studio equipment has been upgraded to improve accessibility, and there is updated signage around the complex.
Our trainers at the Health and Fitness Club are level 2 qualified gym instructors. We have a health commitment statement which is visible for all to read. The centre manager is also qualified to instruct members about any long-term issues after having COVID-19.
There is level access to the outdoor pool and guests may use the accessible changing room in the Health & Fitness club.
ACTIVITIES
There is an easy-access trail for less able-bodied people to experience the heathland habitat and views across the North Sea from an interpretation point. Due to the woodland and heathland habitat, some activities may be unsuitable for those with disabilities. Staff at reception or a member of the Countryside Team will be pleased to offer further advice.
EMERGENCY SERVICES
There is a 24-hour emergency telephone service on the Park located in the Village Square and Security is on the Park after hours.
A defibrillator is located in the Village Square, and a number of our staff are trained to operate it.
If you require a wheelchair, we recommend Holt Mobility Centre, 01263 588777. Mobile phone coverage on the Park is available but can be limited due to Kelling’s rural location.
