Did you know? Our the Park has been celebrated for its dedication to stargazing and preserving the night sky, offering guests a unique, eco-friendly experience in one of the UK’s best locations for observing the stars.

David Bellamy Blooming Marvellous Award

Here at Kelling Heath, we are delighted to announce that we have been awarded not one, but two David Bellamy Blooming Marvellous Pledge for Nature Awards.

The Blooming Marvellous Pledge builds on the amazing work done under the David Bellamy Conservation Award Scheme, which ran for over 25 years.  The Scheme was set up by the British Holiday & Home Parks Association (BH&HPA) and Professor David Bellamy, who was one of the UK’s leading environmentalists.  The Pledge honours his legacy and his practical and pragmatic approach to nature conservation.  David dedicated his life to encouraging people to get out into the countryside so that they could experience and value nature. The pledge continues this vital work.

If you have any questions regarding our varied environments, or have any nature nurturing stories of your own from your stay with us, maybe you are a habitat hero yourself? Then please do feel free to get in touch and let us know using the contact form.  We love hearing about other animals, insects and birds enjoying our Parks alongside all of us, recent discoveries can be recorded in our Nature Sightings folder in Reception.

Green Tourism Award

We have been awarded the prestigious Gold Award from Green Tourism – recognising our commitment to protecting the environment, sustainability, conservation, and inspiring our Holiday Homeowners and Guests to connect with nature.

Kelling Heath has pioneered green practices for years and we’re proud to have built a place where nature thrives.  Some of our proudest initiatives include:

Red Squirrel Breeding Programme: Since 1999, we’ve bred over 40 red squirrels to help boost this endangered species.

Thoughtful Waste Management: From robust recycling systems and food waste separation to refill water stations and a mission to phase out single-use plastics in our Village Store.

Sustainable Infrastructure: Including solar panels, water harvesting systems, and eco-conscious purchasing practices.

Eco-Friendly Land Management: Using Welsh Mountain sheep to naturally graze the heath, overseen by our dedicated Countryside Team under a rolling 10-year management plan.

We are committed to reducing our environmental impact by adopting greener practices and encouraging eco-friendly behaviour among our teams and Guests alike.

By involving everyone who visits our Parks and informing them of incentives and tips on topics such as waste reduction, wildlife conservation, and energy-saving efforts, we aim to create a shared sense of responsibility for our natural surroundings. Our goal is to not only preserve the beauty of the Parks but also to inspire a connection with nature.
