Local Community & Charities

As a business, we are committed to contributing and raising funds for Local Community Groups and Smaller Local Charities.
By partnering with local groups and organisations, we can help to strengthen community ties and foster a shared commitment to our environment and sustainability.

Did you know? During one of many trips to the Park in 2024, Holt Cubs & Beavers helped us to officially launch ‘The Hive’ – a dedicated space on Park for bringing people together.

Community Engagement

Red Squirrels

Holt Scout Group

We have been working closely with Holt Scouts (includes Cubs and Beavers) for many years.

Last year, the Cubs and Beavers had a wonderful evening on Park learning all about our Red Squirrels from our Countryside Team, whilst helping us officially launch ‘The Hive’.

Our Restaurant Back of House team made some wonderful cakes and cookies for the Beavers and their parents, and the shop provided some Wildlife themed goodie bags.

This year we have already booked in two walks & picnics for the Cubs, Beavers and Scouts and their families.  We have provided them with materials needed to achieve ‘Axe Throwing’ at the Scout Hut.

We will continue to offer our Park for them to achieve their badges and providing a warm and welcoming space in The Hive for break out spaces and learning more about nature.

Annually, we donate a ‘short stay off peak break’ for their Christmas Raffle – this has previously raised enough funds for the groups to be able to not increase membership fees for children.

Small Charities

PACT Wildlife Rescue

PACT have assisted us previously with wildlife rescue.  They are a small charity that desperately need funds to continue caring for wildlife.

PACT can be supported by donating items on their wish list, which can be found on their website.

On Park, our unclaimed lost property is donated to their Holt charity shop.

Members of our team are looking forward to spending the day volunteering on their Farm this summer.

The Healing Harbour

A local charity run by Alison Brennan, a former palliative care nurse.  Alison has several volunteers that run activities to connect with Nature for people with deteriorating health in North Norfolk and their families, friends and carers.  Alison’s belief is being present in nature and spending meaningful time with others support wellbeing.

We contacted Alison to explore Kelling Heath being used as a venue for some of her activities outdoors, to include wellbeing walks, and our indoor space, The Hive, for some drop in ‘tea and chat’ support sessions, along with a training room for ‘Community Learning Shares’ in advanced care planning, palliative care, loss and bereavement.

The Healing Harbour wants to nurture a compassionate community, in which people living with palliative conditions and their caregivers experience support.  We feel this links well with our Holiday Homeowners, some of whom may benefit from the services The Healing Harbour offers or alternatively they may be interested in being part of the support network of volunteers.

Last year The Healing Harbour used The Hive for a number of events and have a Bird Song event planned in there for the end of April.  Our business is providing complimentary refreshments and promoting the event to our Holiday Homeowners and Guests.
