Our chosen Charity The East Anglian Air Ambulance

Every year Blue Sky Leisure and its Group Companies Kelling Heath & Woodhill Park raise funds for a chosen charity. In 2016 we have chosen The East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Please help us in our support of The East Anglian Air Ambulance

East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) was established in 2000 and has grown from a one Helicopter, oneday a week operation, to a 365 day-a-year Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) with two Helicopters and two Rapid Response Vehicles. We cover Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire, attending patients whose lives are in danger.

EAAA is vital to those living within or visiting, the rural communities of East Anglia. Our Helicopters can reach anywhere within the region within 25 minutes and are able to land in places not always accessible to a land ambulance.

Our highly skilled Clinical teams, comprising of Critical Care Paramedics and Doctors, allow us to bring the Trauma Unit directly to the patient. Our Clinical teams have the capability to do interventions usually only possible within a Major Trauma Unit and carry advanced pieces of equipment to ensure the patient arrives at the Hospital in the best condition possible. The range of the Helicopter also means we are able to fly the patient directly to the Hospital best equipped to deal with that patient's needs, even if it is out of the region. This saves valuable time and can often make a big difference to the recovery of the patient.

EAAA is solely funded by the general public and receives no regular Government funding or subsides from the National Lottery. In 2016, EAAA will need to raise £10.2 million to keep our Helicopters in the Skies. We are delighted to have been chosen as Charity of the year by Kelling Heath and Wood Hill holiday parks and look forward to a great year of fundraising!

If you would like any more information on the service provided by EAAA or to hear about our lifesaving work directly from our patients, please visit www.eaaa.org.uk
