Spooky events on the Norfolk Coast

As we enter the spookiest time of year, there are plenty of Halloween celebrations happening in and around the North Norfolk area for the whole family to look forward to, including here at Kelling.

Here are a few of our top picks to look out for, if you’re brave enough…

Ride the Ghost Train with North Norfolk Railway, 22 – 29 October
Hop aboard the Ghost Train at the North Norfolk Railway with treats and lots of tricks! A short distance away at Weybourne Station, enter the spook-laden Ghostly Grotto (if you’re brave enough) and make your way through witches, warlocks and shuddering spiders.

Trick or Tweet at Pensthorpe Natural Park, 22 – 30 October
Get the family together for some gruesome Halloween activities at Pensthorpe Natural Park. Taking place in Hootz House Indoor Play Area, there will be quizzes, puzzles, riddles and spooky crafts for all ages to enjoy. Help each other to find the phantom pumpkins before any spells are cast and make sure you dress up to get your picture taken in the booth – prizes will be given for best dressed!

Hocus Pocus Halloween at Holkham, 27 – 30 October
A fun-packed experience awaits those who dare at Holkham Estate this October. Join the fancy dress parade and add some frightening face paint as you wonder around a host of spooky events and activities. The Old Kitchen will also be open for budding cooks to make scarily scrummy cupcakes, whilst the Walled Garden will host spell-binding tales by guest speakers.

Halloween Costume Party at Kelling Heath, 29th October
Calling all witches & warlocks, ghosts & ghouls the witching hour approaches and it’s time to show off your chilling costumes! Saturday 29th October is our annual Halloween costume party starting with 5 year olds and under, followed on by 12 year olds and under, 16 years and under, adults and, last but not least, dogs!

PrimEvil at Dinosaur Adventure, until 31 October
PrimEvil is Norfolk's biggest scare experience. Running until the end of October, visitors can enjoy five frightening attractions including the Carnevil of Terrors, Mayhem Manor Hotel, and the Forest of Fear all in the setting of Dinosaur Adventure Park. Tickets are available online but be quick – they sell out quickly!

Halloween Open Day at Cromer Pier, 29 October
Head to the seafront at Cromer Pier for a fun-filled day of free activities and entertainment. Take part in the Spooky Graveyard hunt, tarot readings, apple bobbing, and a scary theatre tour at 1pm. Make sure you also catch a glimpse of a True Motion Dance performing a very special Thriller routine (weather permitting). Events take place from 10am – 4pm.
