Kelling Heath named Best Holiday Park in Norfolk

Staff at Kelling Heath Holiday Park are celebrating after the park was crowned best in Norfolk at the EDP Tourism Awards.

Speaking after picking up the award for Best Holiday Park/Village of the Year, Kelling’s Mark Durrant said the win was particularly pleasing as the park was nominated in the category by a member of the public. He said: “It’s always nice to win awards, especially when it’s as a result of a satisfied customer! We work extremely hard all year round to make sure our guests have the best possible holiday experience they can, so this is a well-deserved pat on the back for every member of the Kelling team.”

In handing the award to Kelling, the judges said: “Whether touring or camping, or having a break in one of its lodges or holiday homes, Kelling Heath’s commitment not just to its customers and facilities, but also its heathland environment and local wildlife is impressive.”

The park was also praised for its ongoing investment in facilities, homes and plots, as well as its innovative approach to marketing, which the judges said was designed to link the park with holiday memories - keeping the brand alive all year round.

The latest award for Kelling comes a month after it and its sister destination - Woodhill Park, in East Runton - were given ‘Gold’ status as part of this year’s David Bellamy Conservation Awards – a scheme championing the efforts of holiday parks to preserve and protect the natural environment.

Kelling attracted specific praise for the installation of a new biomass boiler to improve energy efficiency, the variety of environmentally-themed educational activities for children, the breadth of locally-sourced products in its shop, the installation of six on-site beehives, and its programme of native tree planting.
