A circular walk to and around one of the ponds to collect materials followed by a crafting session under shelter. The exact route will depend on; conditions on the day and capabilities of participants.
About the Activity Provider
Jon Tyler is an experienced practitioner of nature inspired outdoor activities and experiential learning. He provides an array of wildlife awareness, wild-craft, and wild-food activities both at Kelling heath and Woodhill Park.
Jon is a qualified bush-craft practitioner and member of the Institute of Outdoor Learning with 25 years of delivering exciting, engaging and inspiring outdoor experiences.
Rush and willow crafts
Try out some seasonal creative crafts using just natural materials a few tools and your bare hands. Explore the whole crafting process from harvesting materials to making traditional country craft objects from willow, twigs and rush stems.
Items will depend on time & materials available, but include: hoop & weave baskets + bridie crosses.

Everyone is encouraged to take part in activities; there will be something of interest for all attending.
Some of the crafts take time, patience and a degree of dexterity making them unsuitable for younger children. There will also be sharp tools that are not suitable for children without supervision.
When available, you can book activities from 7 days before your arrival.
